Ancient Greek Athletic Training
The epic poet Homer presents Ulysses in the Iliad fighting bravely with his utmost human strength. In Odyssey Homer portrays Ulysses’ hyperbody struggle for his return home; he never abandons the ideal straggle for this goal to the end of his life. The training of the ancient Greek youth targeted to the triple cultivation creating a broad mind, a brave heart and a strong body of the citizens throughout their whole life, keeping fit the persons energetically in creation from their early age, and making them enduring, courageous and wise during their old age. The peaceful and inspiring environment in Geneva was the ideal place that produced the “The Olympians” a delving into the Olympiads that both our sons and I enjoyed putting down, as our family’s contribution to the Olympic Movement.
