Computers

As one can easily imagine, in my everyday life I use computers very much. I would not say that my whole University work depended definitely on computers, as I mainly used them for the text review. On the other hand, I make my Econometric Applications, where the analysis of the countless ‘Time Series’ done by hand would take months!

More seriously I use Computers because of my employment, which is very simply the installment of operating systems, (Windows 98, 2000 Server or XP) as well as every kind of PC peripherals like DVD-ROM, Backup devices, Scanners and so on.

The PCs may operate by itself or in net. Of course there are the ‘easy tasks’ like memory improvement, the card and hard disc change, the installment of Internet and the like. My work also includes of PC repairs. So to speak an 'Abyss', where the problem may simply be an amateurish handling to… (trouble shooting’s list also under construction). And this is really a demanding task, a genuine puzzle! Most of the times I manage to solve the enigma by rather foresight and great luck than by visible insight. During my training time at IBM Suisse in summer '98 (among others) I had the opportunity to widen my computer knowledge.
