My Profile

My name is Apostolos-Athanassios Touloumtzoglou, Tolly, and I was born in Athens on 18th January 1977. My father inspired me with enthusiasm for the ‘Air Force’, and my Mother motivated me to love European Languages, as on her laps I signed my first ‘autographs’ on her precious dictionaries.
I finished the Multi-branch Lyceum of Piraeus in summer 1994 after which I arrived in Geneva to have a general idea of the University studies, a close search of the educational system and the preparation I should have for the notable ‘Fribourg Exams’ which I passed in winter 1995.

Now I find myself one step higher: I graduated and post-graduated in ‘Quantitative Economy’ and ‘Economy and Finance’, respectively. For the first degree, I have chosen the main branch of Econometrics, the connection between the Economic Theory and reality. In other words, the attempt to analyze the mutual influence within a given Economic System, and to measure quantitatively this mutual influence. It is a very interesting endeavor and the use of a computer is quite necessary. The Masters degree is more concentrated on financial issues, such as portfolio optimization, corporate finance and event studies.
